On Saturday, May 15, 2021, ten members of Delta Mu Mu Chapter participated in the community mobile
grocery distribution at Caring For Others in southeast Atlanta. Members of the Chapter worked from 9:30 AM
- 2 PM. For the first 90 minutes, they helped pack bags of assorted
meats and cabbage for the Distribution. The Distribution started
approximately at 11 AM where members served in three capacities:
loading groceries in cars, directing traffic, and greeting Caring For
Others' clients in need. In total, groceries were distributed to
approximately 390 families in need.
On Saturday, May 15, Caring For Others (CFO) distributed
meat,
beverages, vegetable boxes, paper towels, assorted household products,
and more to over 350 families at its community grocery mobile distribution.
In advance of that, and as part of DMM's new partnership with CFO and its
newly launched South Atlanta Food Bank (SAFB), the Brothers of DMM
extended its hand in serving the community. On Saturday, May 8, nine
(9) Bros spent time assembling assorted household products into 500 bags
in preparation for the mobile community distribution on May 15.
This
two-hour activity (10 AM-Noon) occurred at the newly constructed
hardscape which will serve as the hub for the SAFB. During this time,
Bros assembled 500 bags which included a selection of various products
such as bathroom tissue, disinfecting wipes, hand sanitizer, laundry
detergent, dishwashing liquid, toilet bowl cleaner, disinfecting spray,
air freshener, multi-surface cleaner, and other items.
